Ch-ch-ch-changes!

Wow so some major changes have taken place over the last few weeks.

Some good, some not-so-good but I know it's all for the best.

I am returning to the working world!
Yep...you read that right.
I am putting back on my heels, commuting into DC and returning to work as a Paralegal.

I reached out to my previous employer and to my surprise my old position was available.
How awesome is that?!

Don't get me wrong, I'm a bit freaked out about working full-time, taking care of my babies, and training for the Asheville marathon.

However, "my dad always said that there's 24 usable hours in every day"....bonus points if you can name that movie.

Luckily, I'll have access to a gym at my work. Looks like me and the treaddie will become friends whether I like it or not. Ha ha.

I think this is the right move for me.

There will definitely be an adjustment period not only for me but also my babies but I think it'll all work out.

Have you made a huge lifestyle change?
How did it go?
Does change scare you?

  1. Yes there will be an adjustment period but I have no doubts you will make it work. I like change. Nothing huge lately but I'm thinking about it :) Scary! Not so much because of change but the risk that is involved. I'm not much of a risk taker!

  2. How exciting, what an inspiration you are. That is a scary thing to do, but you will be so glad that you did! Life begins when you step outside your comfort zone....and you are doing just that!!!

When I moved to America on Scholarship to pursue my running career having never visited the school or anything, I was terrified, but I trusted that it would work out, and took the leap of faith....and it paid off....I ended up an 11 time All-American and ran in the Great Britain Olympic trials at the end of it :)

You are gonna do great :)

  3. Congratulations! Just remember the first few weeks of commuting into D.C. will suck until you get used to it. Maybe we could meet up for lunch one day. ;-)

  13. Congrats on the life change - that's exciting! I've been a working mom the whole time, with a long commute into DC, so let me know if you have any Q's or want tips! I've done almost every childcare option out there - my mom, nannies, daycare centers, home daycare, and now an au pair who lives with us.
