National Pancake Day!

Today is National Pancake Day at IHOP. IHOP has teamed up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for this special event.

YAY for pancake day!!

I offered to volunteer for 2 shifts today. I worked at IHOP store #3289 from 7-3:15!! Let me just say that all of the employees were fantastic. They were all sooooo nice and kept me company since I was all alone. I guess another person was supposed to show up but did not. But I was there holding down the fort and collecting donations for LLS/TNT!!

I'm happy to say that I we had a good turnout and I collected a lot of donations. The local high schools let out during the second shift and let's just say that the high school kids just wanted the free pancakes. I worked my charm on them and was able to get some of them to donate.

I enjoyed a short stack of pancakes during my second shift but forgot to take a pic. I figured no one would want to see a pic of my empty plate. I drank entirely too much coffee today but it was cold in the lobby area. The manager on duty was so accommodating and even turned up the heat for me.

I was exhausted when I got home. But the hubs reminded me that I needed to go running. I was freezing so I opted to run on the treadmill. 5 miles was on the schedule but sadly I only did 3.5. My legs felt so heavy and I was tired. I realized that I only drank 1 bottle of water today...YIKES!! That is just awful and probably why I felt like crapola.

Needless to say I went to bed early last night. I was beat but I am proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone (once again) and helping LLS/TNT!

If you weren't able to make it to Pancake Day, you can still make a tax-deductible donation to My Fundraising Page. Every little bit helps!!

  2. What a great day to fundraise. I'm out with the Girl Scouts selling cookies every January--it is so easy task. Kudos to you for hanging out at IHOP!
