I was relieved when I called my doctor's office and they told me to come in at 9:20 TODAY! I quickly dressed the kids and myself and out the door we went. I saw my doc and she diagnosed me with a sinus infection. After realizing that I am allergic to Penicillin AND sulfa, she decided on Erythromycin and a cough syrup with codeine.
Sooooo hopefully, I start feeling better by tomorrow. The weather is warmer these days *scratches head* which is odd considering it is JANUARY! It's supposed to be in the 60s this weekend and I really don't want to miss another Team In Training group run.
Shockingly enough, I was able to run 3 miles on the treadmill last night without coughing. However, I had a nice cough attack during yoga...yeah that was nice and embarrassing. The icing on the cake was when my nose turned into a faucet. Ever do downward facing dog while your nose is running?! It's not much fun.I'm currently waiting for my prescriptions to get filled. The nice thing about CVS is that you can log on and see the progress. 1 prescription is ready for pickup and the other is still being filled...sigh. As you can see, I am anxious to take them and start feeling better.
If you know me, then you know that I am an impatient person. I went ahead and picked up my antibiotic. I have to take it 4 times a day. I went ahead and set up an alarm on my phone so that I don't miss a dose. I take getting better pretty seriously.
How long do you wait until you go to the doctor?

I didn't think it would require a doctor's appointment. I guess next time I won't wait so long :/
Deletehad the same thing! Took me 9 days before I went to doc, by that time I couldn't hear! Sinus and chest infection. Antibiotics, decongestant and cough pills. Be careful as 3 weeks later I am STILL not 100%! This thing kicks your ass!
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon!!
DeleteI am a nurse and a mom. I need to be on my death bed to see a doctor, lol.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
Thanks. I'm feeling better already.
DeleteOh it's so true. I hardly get to the doctor at all anymore! But I'm glad you listened to your body and finally went- hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I am feeling so much better already
DeleteGlad you're back at it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl :)
DeleteWow! Ten days to get to the doctor! That is crazy. You must have high pain tolerance. For me once I get to day three I am cancelling everything to get me some meds! Just found your blog and I'm excited to get to know you better. Hope you don't mind if I follow along...

ReplyDeleteI don't think I have a high pain tolerance, per se. I think I just get so busy with the kids that I forget about myself. I'm MUCH better today.
