Goodbye January

This post is kind of all over the place. I apologize in advance.

Wow, I can't believe that January is already over. It went by so fast especially since I spent the first
10 days sick.

Today was pretty craptastic. I received some pretty bad news about a loved one. I'm just waiting for updates. Waiting sucks.

I really needed today's run even if it had to be on the treadmill. I needed to forget about all the bad news that was dumped on me. I am free when I run. My mind is clear. I knew I would feel better if I was able to run.

I also needed yoga. 60 minutes of stretching, breathing and focusing on me. Yoga is the perfect post-run exercise. Although, my body was tired I felt so relaxed during my practice.

Other than having to drop out of the Whole30, I have stuck to my goals. I feel like my running has improved greatly. I no longer have any pain so I am guessing that my stress fracture has fully healed!!

Healthy eating is going well. I still have good and bad days. It all depends on my stress level. Like today, I wanted comfort foods because it was such a rough day. I did indulge on a little bit of chocolate but other than that I made decent choices.

I am hoping that February is a great month. I am slowly reaching my Team in Training goal. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, you can click HERE

How are you doing so far? Still sticking to those goals & resolutions?

  1. So far so good, but man oh man is the winter a world beater! I hate the darkness, the cold and the bi-polar weather. Once we get through February, it is all good!

  3. It's hard to get bad news, sorry to hear about that.

January was not at all what I expected. I was sick most of the month and not starting out Feb. too great either. Just trying to get better so I can back into the home gym which I am craving. Was going to try to do some light spinning today but I have been up since the wee hours coughing so not sure if that would be smart.

In the past I would tend to push it and just made things worse. Gotta keep my chin up. You too!
