Yesterday the weather was perfect. It was a gorgeous day but definitely out of place. I mean, it's January, it should not be this warm. We'll probably get snow in June now. Bizzaro weather.
I had 5 miles of tempo work ahead of me buuuuuuut it would have to wait until the hubs got home from work.. Boo. I cannot push my children for 5 miles at my tempo pace. I'm just not there...yet.
So the plan was to head to the rec center as soon as we got home. I was dreading every single second I would have to spend on the 'mill. 5 miles at a fast(er) pace did not sound like fun. It would also be a race against the clock because yoga started at 7.

| Source I got to the rec center and all the treadmills were taken. GAH!!! No bueno. I stood around for a few minutes and thankfully one opened up. I started at an easy pace and kicked it up a notch at every mile. Unfortunately, I was only able to get 4 miles done before yoga. 4 miles is better than no miles, right!? Honestly, I feel comfortable enough to be satisfied with 4 miles. I am hoping for a PR at the Rock 'n' Roll USA half next month and since this isn't my first half, I'm not stressing as much. ******************************************************************************* Did you know that approximately every 4 minutes a person is diagnosed with a blood cancer. Every 10 minutes a person loses their battle. I am running 13.1 miles to help find a cure. Amen! Just getting out there is effort enough!
ReplyDeleteFour miles is totally awesome!!
ReplyDelete4 miles is still a run, but how frustrating on the treadmills :(
ReplyDelete4 miles is definitely better than no miles! I've had the flu and haven't run in almost 2 weeks. What I wouldn't give to see the treadmill right now!! Awesome job!
