I kept the kids downstairs for most of the morning so he could sleep. I was quite productive. I took the guest bed out of the playroom and moved all of their toys in there. My living room is now a toy-free zone!! It looks so much better and I'm pretty proud of myself.
Once Roy woke up, I decided to get my run in. 4 miles at half-marathon pace was on the agenda. I was eager to see if I could do it after feeling like death yesterday. Well....
I did it!
4 miles - 34:46
Mile 1 - 9:03
Mile 2 - 8:32
Mile 3 - 8:23
Mile 4 - 8:33
Average pace - 8:38 min/mile
I was coughing pretty bad afterwards but I expected that. I think the cold air opened up my lungs and I did push myself a bit towards the end. The crisp air was very refreshing especially after being stuck inside.
On a different note....
For 2013, I am participating in 13 in 2013. I plan to run 13 races in 2013. I chose the variety button because I have already registered for a bunch of different race distances. Due to the fact that races can get expensive, I plan to run a few virtual races. I think this will be a great way to keep myself accountable and on track.
Do you participate in virtual races? Are you doing the 13 in 2013?

Congrats on hitting that pace. Good to hear you're feeling better and here's hoping your hubby feels soon too! Have fun reaching your 13 in 2013 goal!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kareen!
DeleteOhh! 13 in 2013. I love challenges like this! I'm thinking of running a half marathon in November when the Richmond Marathon comes to town. I've always liked the distance: challenging but not paralyzing (as far as a training commitment goes)! Looking forward to seeing where your running takes you this year.
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely do it, J! Roy was going to run Richmond but he hurt his back. Maybe he will run it this year
DeleteI agree. Awesome run, especially for still being sick!
ReplyDeleteI am doing the 13 in 2013 also.
Good luck with your 13 in 2013!!
DeleteFellow GGSA here! I am signed up for the multi-distance 13 in 2013 as well. Looking forward to it and hopefully completing my first full marathon!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I am running the Marine Corps Marathon this year. I cannot wait to complete my first marathon!
