High expectations

I set ridiculously high expectations for myself and I have no idea why. I expect after a few weeks of running regularly to have that fit runner's body and it's pretty frustrating.

That is all.

It's official

Since the Army 10-miler is sold out I have decided to run the Baltimore half-marathon. It is October 15th and I am pretty excited. I still need to register but I have plenty of time.

Since we live about a hour away from Baltimore, we will have to go up the night before so that I can pick up my race packet and mentally prepare myself for the race.

My running is coming along great though. On Sunday, I ran 3.63 miles in 35 minutes (9:38 mile). I was so proud of myself, it was hard but I did it.

Starting in June, I am going to start the Hal Higdon half marathon training. I think I will skip the 5K race in week 6 since I know I can run 3.2 miles. But I think I will look for a 10K to run around week 9.

I am pretty excited. Next year, my goal is to run the Marine Corps Marathon.

Our new wheels

My fabulous husband bought me a double jogging stroller. It is fantastic and the kids love it. I no longer have to deal with Miguel kicking Bella in the back and pulling her hair.

I decided to test it out today and go for a 2-mile run. For some reason, I thought running with a jogger would be easy....not the case. I was able to run about 85% of the time; however, the hills in the neighborhood killed me. My arms were burning from the constant muscle contraction but it was a good burn.

I am hoping that running with the stroller will help build up my strength and speed for when I run alone. Hopefully the rainy days are behind us and we are able to get out and run.

Super excited...

My darling husband bought me a double jogger and it was delivered today. I am beyond excited. I have been using my Graco tandem stroller, it works great but is hard to steer.

I cannot wait to try it out but oo bad we are expecting rain for like the next 4-5 days.

Let the training begin....

Switching it up...

I haven't blogged in a few. Life got away from me, I guess.

I have taken my running up a notch and decided to start training for a half-marathon. I still plan on doing the Army 10-miler in October. I am also tempted to run the Women's half-marathon in St. Petes, FL in November. How awesome would that be?!

I promise to blog regularly :)
